About Bruner Knives - Edge of Texas ForgeMy name is Dennis Bruner. I live in Northeast Texas near the three states area where the Texas, Arkansas & Louisiana lines meet so I call my forge the EDGE of TEXAS FORGE I have been bladesmithing part time around 4 years dividing my time between work, family and Church ministries. I'm learning this art from good friends and some excellent MS JS makers at the hammerins in old Washington & when I can make it to Uncle Al's in DeQueen ARK. Raised in west Texas working cattle & raising horses, I can remember being fascinated with blacksmiths and knives. I have always had and carried knives collecting and using. So when I found a way to combine the two I went for it. I forge all my blades from 5160, 1084, railroad spikes & L6 I still stock remove few utility knives. I like to use native materials from this area and other parts of Texas for the handles when I can. I use Copper & Nickel silver for my guards and spacers, and I flat grind my blades and differential heat treat them. I am still learning different styles, so the design of this web page is to show the blades I have made. I will also show finished knives for sale and knives in the process of being made. I will not take orders for custom made knives since I’m still learning this art.
This is the late Mr. Bill Moran and I, I met him at the 2005 fall Piney Woods Hammer in It was a Great honor.
